If you check the link above you’ll find the first event press release grabbed by Oakville News. This last August was the inaugural iteration of the bandshell experiment, and with sponsors like the Downtown Oakville BIA, Cindy Avis Real Estate, Subaru and help from Creative Event Solutions, we saw how a little effort can go so far.

Kids joined band members on stage, and danced around the park experiencing a unique flavour of entertainment in our own backyard. And what’s in store next?

“What i’d like to see next,” says Shelley Budd, local business owner and music aficionado, “is a real shift towards the commonality of concerts. I want to see kids able to envelop themselves in the freeing aspect of natural entertainment.”

What is natural entertainment?

Well she describes it as “a vacation from the day, on the regular. A way to let go of the stresses that being stuck in a hometown can bring. You get to escape your normal, your schooling, or for the adults - your work. And have an outlet for pause and enjoyment that is close by, so you can gain resonance from the daily grind, and improve the spectacle of the beautiful lakeside that we live in".”

When someone comes by and adds value to your day, you say thank you. So bandshell would like to say THANK YOU!! to everyone who came to our wonderful first 3 events, and everyone who supported and helped this dream come true.

Summer is just around the corner, so get excited for pop-ups and the lakeside park to come back alight again in 2023.

“There is so much to look forward to,” says Shelley. “If you’re looking for something to support, please reach out to sbudd@buddsfamily.com and tell us what you want to see this coming summer.” Title your e-mail “BANDSHELL IDEAS” and send it along ASAP!!! And Musicians, were going to start looking for venues for YOUR beautiful and inspiring talents, so SEND AN E-MAIL, get heard!!!"

“I’ll be here, cooking up some dreamy entertainment for you to stroll by, grab a blanket, and dive into the day with. Watch as your kids dance, the spirits lift, and stress washes away in a safe environment that makes you proud of your hometown.”
